Dénia
Alicante, Spain
The Romans dedicated this city to the goddess Diana, and turn its port into one of the most active in the Iberian Peninsula, at the foot of the mighty mountain range Montgó. Despite of its current importance in the region, Denia has conserved the ambiance of a typical Mediterranean fishing port with a twenty-kilometer-long coastline which presents fine sands in the northern part, yet steep and rocky sections to the south. Thanks to its 3,000 hours of sunshine per year, visitors and locals can enjoy a warm climate pretty much throughout the year.
